National Book Trust, India

NBT is an Indian publishing house, founded in 1957 as an autonomous body under the Ministry of Education within the Government of India and today it is part of Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development. Jawaharlal Nehru envisioned that the National Book Trust should publish low-cost books in order to make them available to as many people who want to educate themselves as possible.

NBT publishes books in several Indian languages for all age-groups, including books for children and books of new authors. At the 58th International Belgaade Book Fair, NBT presented its issues at the stall of the Indian Embassy, for the first time.

 

Culture of India in publishing of Serbia

Indian culture has been present for years in the Serbian publishing. There are published books of Serbian authors inspired by India and translations of important works of Indian authors in the field of literature, culture and art. Publishing activities of the Yoga Federation of Serbia which refers to yoga was presented at this year’s 58th International Belgrade Book Fair. Publications of the International Society for Scientific Interdisciplinary Yoga Research were also presented at the stall of the Centre for the Promotion of Science.
